Teresa Korbis McLaughlin

1952 ~ 2008

Teresa passed away Thursday night, January 24, 2008 surrounded by her family after a courageous fight with several types of cancer. On Nov. 18,1952, she was born to George Korbis and Nellie Warner Korbis in Salt Lake City. In 1972, she married Kevin McLaughlin. Teresa was a person that loved to work and the challenges associated with it. Throughout her career she worked for the US Army and two aerospace companies, E-Systems and Parker, where she held such positions as program manager and product line manager. She had many hobbies and interests.

Teresa was an ardent University of Utah fan who loved watching her team in person and on television. Teresa loved the outdoors with activities such as swimming, hiking, bicycling, picnics, fishing, and camping. Her very favorite activity was spending time with her friends and family and particularly hosting family get-togethers. Teresa was the ultimate hostess. Every acquaintance was an immediate friend to Teresa. She had a way of touching everyone's heart.

Teresa is survived by her husband; parents; sisters, Brenda Hansen (Larry) and Penny Rainaldi (Paul); brother, Kris (Marcia); nieces, Kali Korbis and Atalea Rainaldi; and nephew, Anthony Rainaldi. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Teresa also left behind her beloved shelties, Buster and Toby who brought great joy to her.
