Jerry Hofhine

Jerry L. Hofhine, age 45, passed away at home on October 31, 1998. He valiantly and courageously struggled to fight an invasion against an enemy he couldn't conquer. He was taken from us too soon and too young of metastatic melanoma cancer.

 

Born in Salt Lake City, the son of Richard H. and June Lutesinger Hofhine.

 

He graduated from Granite High School in 1971, attended S.L.C.C. and many training classes and seminars.He was employed at South Valley Water Reclamation Facility in West Jordan for the last five years as a maintenance mechanic.

 

Jerry had all the qualities of an exceptional man. Quite the character with a great sense of humor and at the same time caring and sensitive. He had a zest for outdoor sports. Camping, boating and fishing were among his greatest pleasures along with trap shooting with his wonderful pickininny friends. Thanks guys and gals. He was also an avid Denver Bronco fan. He was a member of the F.O.E #3285 and the Magna Gun Club.

 

Survived by Patricia Vigil, dedicated loving partner and companion of nine years. One daughter, Jamie Hofhine, Ely, Nevada; stepchildren, Sam (Lennette) Vigil, Adrian Vigil, Richelle Vigil, Heather Vigil; five grandchildren, including his "little buddy" Dominic, two brothers, Bob (Vicky) Hofhine, Salt Lake, Richard Hofhine, Sandy; one sister, Janet Adair, Sandy; uncle, Ted (Marge) Hofhine, Salt Lake; aunt, Mary Lutesinger O' Flartey, California; grandmother, Hazel Lutesinger Christensen; favorite mother-in-law Zella Heineman. Preceded in death by his parents.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 1998. 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
