Wow, what a night! That was so much fun. It was so good to see so many old friends and to meet all my new friends I have now. Isn't it amazing how 40 years ago, we would'nt have said boo to some of these people but after 40 years, ah its no big deal. Lorie definately was right about one thing. We all have gotten old, not just older, but old. Except for Steve Brown. That guy still looks like he could stay up past 9:30 doesn't he. To all the girls, you did such a fine job. Its amazing how wasy tasks may become when people can work together. Ralph Richins, it was so good to see you my friend. Brad Murdock and Terry Seibert ditto. Brad, still the same BS'er you always were. If anyone comes through Beaver on your way down south and doesn't at least call to say hi, RaNae and I will be upset. Beaver is the hub of the universe and we are right across the street from the golf course and she makes an incredible potato salad. I loved seeing all of you. Thanks for the new memories. Bob

And in a blink of an eye we only have the memories we made.  What a fantastic evening of celebration. We've survived 40 years past high school!  I didn't get to visit with very many friends and I am in shock as I see pictures of people who were there that I didn't even see.  I am standing in a picture of my Ward next to Marsha Staker. Next to Marsha is Jill Jones who was my backyard neighbor growing up. I didn't even see her and I'm standing that close to her.  I feel so sad about that!  I've enjoyed my newfound friendship with Lorrie and I am so proud of her and her dedication to this reunion.  She went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great experience.  Diena, Ralph, Vickie, and Nancy were such key players in pulling this all together. I loved hearing Mike Gudmundson sing a song that was so fitting for the evening and visiting with him and Lorrie well into the morning hours.  Thanks to all of you who enjoyed my memorabilia table.  I am not a hoarder, just a sentimentalist!   I am so thankful that Stephanie Thomas won the most divorces award so I didn't have to take it home!  I've been unlucky  in love, but I've made up for it with 3 beautiful daughters and 11 extrodinary grandchildren.  I hope we can find many more classmates to share this wonderful experience with in five years.  Please make sure to check this website occasionally and keep it updated, especially if you change your web address. Make sure you tell anyone who didn't want to come (for whatever reason) that they were missed.  Maybe after they see our pictures they will see that they fit in with the rest of us! We're old, plain and simple.  Steve Brown finally got his trophy (wife)!  Bud Headman, I am so glad you came.  He has put into words the way I feel about our reunion in his blog www.bheadman.com. Definately worth reading.  Claudia Jardine, I loved you then and I love you now. Why such a nice girl befriended me in high school I'll never know, but I'm glad you did! I could go on and on about my evening, but I'm sure you have your own memories to hold onto.  I love reunions. I love all of you. Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.....................

Perfectly said Colby, Nita, Bob and Ralph.  I hope that people know how to get to the message forum.  I'm not sure that every one does.  All I can say is LETS DO IT AGAIN.  lb

What a reunion! Far better than I ever thought it would be. To all of you that made it there it will be a night to remember. Thanks to all those who put long tedious hours into making it a very enjoyable event.

I want to wish all of the Granite alumni of 1971 the best life has to offer you.  Thanks again;>}

It was a great  reunion! Since  my  Husband  couldn't make it, I brought my sister with, she graduated in 1968, it was alot of fun with her and everyone. I appreciated my husband making the name tags, they looked really good, he enjoyed making them. Thanks for all the hard work that to those that made it possible! The food was very delicious, and it was so good to catch up with some of you!

Brian it is to be October 7 2016. There was an all classes reunion earlier this year so we did not plan a big reunion this one is casual and a handful of people so far have told us they will be there. It is catered by Cafe rio and at St Vincent de Paul church.

Hope you can make it and encourage any of our classmates to come as well.

Hi Lorrie -

Thanks for the info and invite to the Reunion!  Sadly, I won't be able to make it as I have lived in beautiful Cornwall, England (UK) for the past sixteen years!  If anyone is interested in seeing what Cornwall is like, and it's fascinating history, watch "POLDARK" on PBS Masterpiece on Sunday, Sept 25th for the start of the second series!!

All the best to my fellow Granitians, and have a wonderful reunion!

Carrie Baide (Baide-Pugh)

I am sad to see Ann Glissmeyer on the memorial list. Does anyone have any information. I played flutes with her in middle school and can't find anything. Please

I'm attaching the news article that reported the accidental death of John Bytendorp.  John graduated with the 1971 class. He, sadly, passed away on August 15, 2019. I've submitted information for the "In Memory" page.
